Please Read,
If you have a make up game from the first half of the season, you can find the rescheduled game on your first half schedule. Please remember to have only one person from each team text, email or call. Players should be obtaining information from thier coaches. The best way for coaches to inquire about rain outs is to first check the website, then text or email.
Phone calls should be the last option, as calls cannot always be answered.
The MRC Complex makes the decison on whether or not to cancel games until 5pm. If I am informed that games are cancelled, I will post online immediately. The goal is not to cancel whenever possible. If games are not cancelled by 5pm by the MRC, typically, we try to wait it out and see if clouds clear. This is Santa Fe, the weather changes minute to minute. There is no planning when it comes to the weather. Please remember this.
If we cancel games early in the day, there are complaints. If we wait until the afternoon, there are complaints. If we do not cancel and it rains after games start, there are complaints. It is impossible please each and every single team or player. If you have players that come from out of Santa Fe, please remember, it is a choice to travel and play anywhere.
There is no guarantee the games will not be cancelled when they show up and no guarantee it will or will not rain on any given day. It is the responsibilty of the team captains to find out the status of the games or any other inquiries thier players have. Games are ALWAYS rescheduled. The game times may or may not work for your team but there is limited times when they can be played and they have to be scheduled when there is open fields.
I have asked every team to please give advance notice if they believe they are going to forfiet. If the opposing team does not show up or have enough players. This does not mean there is some secret plot against your team to avoid you playing all of your scheduled games. Do not believe anything unless you have heard it directly from your coach.
To t hose of you who communicate via email and text regularly, thank you very much. You make things much easier. If you do not practice this procedure, please try to do so. Please remember, softball is a game. It is recreational entertainment. Please keep things in perspective.
The cost of playing softball was decided by the City of Santa Fe more than 15 years ago when the MRC Complex was built. Registration entry fees have not been raised one time in 9 years, in fact they have been decreased the past two years.
If you have questions or concerns about the MRC Complex, thier annual user fees, or the the softball fields.
Please contact the MRC Complex directly. If youd like to see the User Fees reviewed or done away with, please contact your City Councilor.
If you are a team captain, please fill out or resubmit a Team Contact Form on the Team contact tab of this site. There are a lot of non working numbers and innacurate email adresses on the rosters that were submitted at the beggining of the year. Also, some numbers are landl ines that cannot recieve messages. I need to be able to contact at least one person from each team via email or text. If I cannot, your team may not be informed of happenings other than on the website.
